Daniel AK Namta, 3 years old is the only precious child and the ray of life of Namta and
his wife. When Daniel was diagnosed with leukemia, their life turned bleak, but they did
not lose hope and took their only child for treatment. Namta earns only RM300 doing
odd jobs in his village and his wife is a full time housewife. We visited Daniel at his
house in Belawai by boat. He lives in a long house in a rural area which lacks even the
most basic facilities. Yet Daniel who is a cheerful boy lives an active life. He attends
school like all kids his age and likes the character Ultraman a lot. The patience and
determination of Daniel and his family to pursue life despite the various challenges is an
example to us all. Always be grateful with what we have despite life’s challenges!
