PRUUM ONLINE, 5 May: As part of the activities planned, the English Language Club (ELC) of Universiti Utara Malaysia successfully organised a charity event, namely the Charity Movie 2008 on 3 rd April 2008.

This programme was one of the few projects organised by ELC throughout this 2007/2008 academic session.

The main objective of the Charity Movie 2008 was to encourage UUM students to participate in English activities in a fun and entertaining way, as well as to contribute to the less fortunate and promote a caring campus community.

ELC succeeded in making a profit of RM350.00 from the Charity Movie organised.

ELC members have decided that the proceeds of this event will go to MAKNA (Majlis Kanser National). MAKNA was chosen as the beneficiary of the event because it is a leading non-profit organisation that helps cancer patients and promotes cancer awareness and research in Malaysia.
