MNRB Brings Cheers To The Orphanage Of Kampung Nelayan, Telok Gong, Klang And Children Of Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA)

Kuala Lumpur, 10 December 2003 In continuation of Malaysian National Reinsurance Berhad (MNRB) tradition of organizing charitable activities, Malaysian Re shares the spirit of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri with the orphanage of Kampung Nelayan, Telok Gong, Klang and children of Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA).

60 children aged between 7 to 16 years old, were treated to Hari Raya delicacies and some magic and games show. The event took place at the company building attended by the Management and Staff of Malaysian Re. Encik Anuar Mohd Hassan, Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director of Malaysian Re presented each children with cash donation and food hamper. Employees of Malaysian Re also used this opportunity to do charity by giving cash donations and clothes to the children.

Encik Anuar said that this contribution is in line with Malaysian Res commitment to bring cheers to the underprivileged especially during festive seasons. Malaysian Res have been actively spreading joy of festivity. We hope this small contribution will ensure that less fortunate children are able to enjoy and celebrate this festive month just like everyone else. As for the cancer patient, we hope this event will alleviate their sufferings and bring joy to the patients and their immediate family , he added.

As a caring corporate citizen, Malaysian Re has an on-going community relations programme and has made various contributions and donations in aid of the underprivileged. These programmes include special donations to the underprivileged during festive occasion and also various projects in the areas of health, welfare, education and the arts. Malaysian Re had recently donated RM 200,000.00 for MAKNA Telekanser 2003 project. Malaysian Re believes these kinds of activities will further enhance family spirit and cooperation amongst the employees and management of Malaysian Re.
