Pink ribbon-ed car to race with a cause this Sunday

Kuala Lumpur, November 21 – The A1GP’s Australian team has chosen to be a part of the breast cancer awareness by taking it to the Sepang International Circuit this Sunday. The team’s original car with a pink ribbon on the nose was unveiled for the first time here today.

“The awareness for a cure starts here today in Malaysia and we are glad that besides the thrill of the race, the team has targeted a larger audience to take note of the message that is sent across,” said Australian High Commissioner, Penny Williams.

The team along with National Cancer Council (MAKNA) emphasised that it is important to have an early check up and to take the matter seriously.

“MAKNA provides support services, counselling and financial aid among others. We also conduct researches such as blood, tumour, and diet studies,” said the General Manager of MAKNA, Farahida Mohd. Farid.

Farahida also added that beginning of next year there will be a mobile trailer that comes with equipment such as mammogram, PAP smear and other devices to conduct tests. Besides the test, there will also be talks on how to detect an early growth of tumour in the breasts.

With the tagline ‘Racing for Cure’, the Australian team is all ready to compete with a cause and hopes everyone will have a good weekend at the circuit.
