Young Cancer Survivor Scholarship Program


The Young Cancer Survivor Scholarship Program helps MAKNA to reach its goal of improving the quality of life cancer patients and their families by improving the capacity of pediatric cancer survivor to attend college and lessening the financial burden of college attendances on the cancer survivor’s family.

Who is eligible for the Young Cancer Survivor Scholarship Program ?
Local higher learning institution (private or government) are provided to enroll student who are :
CANCER survivor
Age 25 or younger at the time of application
Demonstrate financial need
Only Malaysian citizen (any race)
Planning to attend a 2 or 4 year accredited undergraduate institution of higher learning education in Malaysia
Opened to any discipline of degree or diploma in Malaysia
Any student/survivor who received sponsorship from other private organization or government are not entitle for this scholarship
What criteria are used in evaluating Young Cancer Survivor Scholarship applications ?
Financial need
Determination, motivation and educational goals

Academic requirements (minimum 2.5/4.0 GPA)

Community service will also be considered (which may include leadership)

Volunteer experiences

 

In addition to financial need and basic academic requirements, the evaluation panel is interested in the applicant’s educational and career plans, awards, life philosophy, motivation and determination. Applicants are asked to describe these through short essay or you must do the voice recording to describe about yourself.
